At Aqua Vida, our commitment is to you and our planet. In our search for products more durable and friendly to the environment and the human body that reduce our carbon footprint on the planet and are truly environmentally friendly, we came across a pioneering new generation of “intelligent yarns”, the future of textiles.
Besides excellent comfort, easy care, touch, functionality and look, which are key basics we want to offer our community, our fabric ranks highly alongside the “intelligent yarns” which provide UV protection, antibacterial benefits, biodegradable properties, water management improvement, and more.
The secret is its enhanced polyamide 6.6 formula, the world's first biodegradable polyamide 6.6 yarn. Developed over five years, its formula has been improved to allow clothes made with this yarn to quickly decompose after being disposed in landfills. Our fabric is a major sustainable breakthrough for the whole textile industry, drastically reducing the environmental impact and the amount of waste left to future generations.
Our fabrics have a green heart. Their innovative properties give you quality, durability, excellent comfort, breathability, easy wash and quick dry properties which are typical of traditional polyamide yarns. The difference?
Garments made with our fabrics suffer no changes during their lifetime, even when stored, having a shelf life as long as conventional polyamides. But in anaerobic landfills, their unique composition allows bacteria to gain access to and digest the waste materials, thus accelerating the biodegradation process.
Our earth-loving family of fabrics offers production traceability from start to finish. To begin with, raw materials are fair trade, locally produced and sourced.
Produced in a closed cycle manufacturing system, the process collects and recycles scrap, wastewater, raw materials found in the water, and heat that is generated in some of the production phases. This maintains environmental standards throughout the industrial cycle so to limit the consumption of natural raw materials and reduce environmental impact.
In addition, the factory adheres to the four pillars of decent work, which is work that "respects the fundamental rights of the human person as well as the rights of workers in terms of conditions of work safety and remuneration. ...respect for the physical and mental integrity of the worker in the exercise of his/her employment.” Aqua Vida is proud to join the ever-growing number of organizations working together to mobilize our resources to create opportunities and to help reduce and eradicate poverty.
This is just the beginning of our commitment to contribute to a future that is bright, safe, and clean for you and Mother Earth.
